⚓️ Designing a website with a soulful, strong willed, rock ‘n’ roll attitude
Published 12 months ago • 2 min read
Hi Reader,
I love love love working with brands that know what they're all about and who they serve. It's so enjoyable and effective to tell their story in a way that leads to even more connection with customers.
Since 1979, Lee Brevard has designed and manufactured their high-end line of jewelry with exquisite materials and a laid back attitude. With a time-tested legacy as a trailblazing brand, their team came to us to bridge the gap between their iconic status and a website that was creating a growth-limiting perception.
It was time for their site to reflect the soulful, strong willed, rock ‘n’ roll attitude that defines their jewelry line. They chose Aeolidia to be a strategic partner for this much-needed brand alignment.
Lee Brevard’s blog is a peek behind the scenes — revealing the moments when their iconic pieces steal the spotlight in movies and TV shows. The grid of Polaroids captures the vibe perfectly.
Lee Brevard came to us with the primary logo and we built upon that, designing elements and additional marks.
Like the jewelry itself that looks best when mixed, matched, and layered, we sourced fonts and created brand elements that can be used together throughout their marketing.
We captured the essence of Lee Brevard’s aesthetic by filling in the holes in their brand strategy and identity design, and by crafting a tagline meant to resonate with their particular audience.
Is your website shining with your brand's purpose and originality? If not, email me back so we can align your products, brand, and website in a way that leads to sales. We would be honored to help.
Q&A
Here's a reader question about print-on-demand, from Regina, as answered by Helen Hulskamp, Ecommerce Strategist on our team:
Q: Regina asks, "I'm considering selling prints and other items with POD and drop shipping. I'm also planning to license my art and accept commissions. Do I really need Shopify or will I be fine with Squarespace website? Thank you in advance!"
A: Squarespace is a good platform for an artist portfolio site. However, if the primary focus of your website is to sell prints and license your art, you will be better off using a platform like Shopify which is designed for ecommerce. Shopify offers more seamless print-on-demand and marketing integrations. There are also larger communities of people selling via POD on Shopify, making it easier to find answers to questions when you have them. Shopify’s extensive app ecosystem is unrivaled for allowing you to add functionality as needed. Even if a simpler ecommerce site is good enough for now, consider whether you will want to move your customers to a new platform as you grow.
