Hi Reader,

I am SO PROUD of my team at Aeolidia! They are all geniuses and absolute experts at what they do. I have a detailed and complex project I want to show you today, which they just completely knocked out of the park.

We are always honored to meet our favorite brands again and again as they level up their businesses. A shop that's been a pleasure to work with as they've matured over the years is our friends at Cashmerette.

We go way back, and this time the mission was to redesign the site to reflect how much the brand had evolved, without disrupting the familiar shopping flow longtime customers already knew.

At the same time, the newly launched Cashmerette Club needed to feel like a natural part of the experience, with clear cues for member perks and a friendly invitation to join. Visually, the brand was ready to shift from “crafty sewing site” to something more fashion-forward and editorial, while making it easier for customers to find the guidance and support that sets them apart.

We approached this as a full experience rebuild, not a simple theme update. Using an in-depth brief, we redesigned Cashmerette’s Shopify 2.0 site to connect patterns, membership, fit guidance, and learning resources into one cohesive ecosystem.

We refined navigation and landing pages to make shopping feel effortless for first-timers while keeping familiar paths intact for returning customers. Visually, we created a more fashion-forward look with flexible hero layouts and elevated merchandising. On the technical side, we built scalable components, including a reusable sizing calculator and metafield-powered product content.

With all of these custom updates, Cashmerette’s new website connects patterns, membership, fit guidance, and learning resources into one cohesive ecosystem, wrapped in a confident, fashion-forward design.

“I have been astonished at the customer reception—not only has the reaction been 100% positive, but we have had people going out of their way to give us positive feedback. We’ve had emails, dozens of messages, blog comments, DMs and more, all of people having the very highest positive feedback for the look and usability of the site. Aeolidia’s excellence in execution and understanding our needs deeply has delivered a really great result.”
Jenny Rushmore, Cashmerette

Q&A

Here's a reader question about email platforms, from Shawna, as answered by Helen Hulskamp, Ecommerce Strategist on our team:

Q: We currently use Mailchimp with an audience of 3,357 total contacts, 1,393 email subscribers. We’ve learned about Klaviyo, but are nervous about the cost and effort to transfer from Mailchimp for this small list, and we would not send more than two emails per month. I imagine we could be using more automated emails and I’m interested to learn more about the help available to set these up.

A: At your list size, it probably isn’t worth it to move to Klaviyo just yet. Klaviyo’s per-profile pricing is based on the assumption that brands will email all profiles, not only through frequent newsletters but also through a full coverage of automated flows. If you’re just starting out with automation, you can use the few that Mailchimp offers, starting with Welcome and Abandoned Cart.

For any list size, Klaviyo can be great if you are a more aggressive email marketer (or want to be). Our email marketing service is a worthwhile investment, and 3000 subscribers is about the cutoff point where you can hope to have your Klaviyo revenue cover the cost of our service within a few months. Which means you’d need to email more than twice a month.

I’d suggest continuing to grow your list and exploring what Mailchimp offers for automations. Once you have a few thousand subscribers and are emailing more frequently, there is a lot of opportunity for making strong revenue with email.
