Q: My current website theme is frustrating, and I can’t adjust it to make it do what I want. How will an Aeolidia design be different?

A: The design themes in the Shopify theme store are created to work satisfactorily for pretty much everyone. That means they are a perfect fit for no one, of course. While themes are made to be flexible as far as what content areas to use where, there’s not much guidance as to what will be effective and attractive.
It used to be that creating a custom site on Shopify meant limiting your ability to edit and change the layout. This is no longer an issue. In July 2021, Shopify released a new theme architecture called Online Store 2.0. Themes that use the previous architecture are called vintage themes. Your custom Aeolidia website, using OS 2.0, will be flexible, editable, and you can duplicate and adjust sections and pages to build new pages on your site. It will also be designed to fit your business exactly, and to allow for growth.
In some cases, we’ll choose an existing theme from the theme store for you, and at other times, we’ll start your build with Aeolidia’s internal theme, built in-house. In all cases, we’ll use our decades of experience to build in best practices and features you need for a high performing site. And you can be assured the site will work for your needs and be well-branded, positioning you as a trusted professional in your niche.

A Shopify website for Lisa Congdon, artist
The challenge:
Lisa Congdon is an artist and illustrator who sells prints and products online and in a brick & mortar, teaches classes, writes and illustrates books, licenses her work, and does public speaking. While her client roster continued to grow, her website wasn’t serving her. All of her online sales took place via her Etsy shop, while she had a separate, information-only website. Her goal was to create a single mobile-friendly ecommerce website that was easy to navigate.
I avoided creating a new website for a long time, even though I knew I needed one. Aeolidia worked to make the process as organized and simple as possible.
