You can use it on desktop, as well as a mobile app.

From this article on Marketplace Pulse (thanks to the Craft Industry Alliance for bringing it to our attention), "Over the past two years, Shopify has added all functionality to complete the Shop app as a fully-fledged marketplace, including adding universal search, recommendations, social videos from brands and expanding to the web. It even allows brands to acquire shoppers through Shop Campaigns ads."

Here's a reader question about email marketing, from Sarah, as answered by Helen Hulskamp, Ecommerce Strategist on our team: Q: Sara asks, "Why don't my emails convert?!"

A: First, make sure people are seeing your emails. Are your open rates greater than 33%? If not, work on deliverability as well as A/B testing your subject lines.
If people are opening your emails, but the click rate is less than 1.2% then work on the calls to action. Make sure the main call to action (CTA) is strong, both in terms of being emotionally compelling as well as visually bold. Use solid, colored, high-contrast buttons. Segment your audience so each recipient gets an offer that is most enticing for their interests. If you aren’t sure which offers are most appealing, A/B test the content of your email (to avoid confusion, don’t test subject lines and CTAs at the same time.) Automated flows are another way to send very targeted CTAs such as reminding a shopper of a product they recently viewed.
If your open rates are strong, then the optimization needs to happen on your website. Make sure the email subject line, the CTA, and the landing page are all in alignment and working together to promote the same offer. And make sure your website as a whole is optimized for conversions and seamless checkout.
