Hi Reader,
Let’s talk about what it means to build an effective ecommerce website. I find myself thinking in analogies when I’m explaining things. Have you ever considered your website to be like a ballet?
Your products are the dancers. The dancers have to be exceptional, of course. But if any one thing is off, it can ruin the whole performance. If you put all your time into practicing the dance, it’s no good if the ballet itself doesn’t have a compelling story, if the costumes are lackluster, if the music is uninspired. And imagine the difference between having an audience of ballet lovers versus having a bunch of …anyone else! Teenagers or motorcyclists or whoever.
The times when we see the greatest success for a shop owner is when they understand this, and fling themselves wholeheartedly into all the pieces (logo, photography, product descriptions, etc.) they need to get their ballet near-perfect. And then it’s important to get the right audience in the seats.
So, as you’re thinking about your website, consider the strengths of your business and where you have great potential. How much time can you put into building and improving the areas that could use some work? Do you have a remarkable brand identity? Is your lack of an email marketing automation strategy leaving money on the table? Maybe it’s been a while and your website isn’t telling your story in an effective way anymore. What do you have nailed and what could you use some help with?
The ability to consider all the details needed for an impactful website is what makes it better to hire an agency of experts rather than try to do this work in-house. Each part of your site requires a different skill set and a different expert, if you want things to be optimal.
If you’re thinking about hiring Aeolidia, we are able to help with all the details of your ecommerce ballet. It takes a team! Please get in touch right away so we can get started.

Aeolidia Case Study
A Shopify Website for Simplified
The challenge:
Simplified by Emily Ley needed an update for an existing custom website. The company handles a high volume of orders and needed flexible functionality that could be easily managed by their in-house team. Bundles were especially challenging. Previously they needed to have a developer add each new bundle individually.
Our approach:
We began with a comprehensive SEO audit which provided valuable insights. The fully custom website we built provides all the functionality needed for an established brand including product bundles, custom mega menus, mobile-first design, optimized collection pages, and a custom blog to showcase the brand’s podcast.
