Hi Reader,
There's a bit of a lull over summer for us, and then things pick up speed like crazy in September. So if you've been thinking about hiring Aeolidia for your branding, strategy, Shopify site, SEO, or email marketing, please check in while we still have spots in our fall schedule.
It's a bit late to make major website changes before Black Friday, but we've got you covered for anything that's not time-sensitive, or any New Year plans. And there is still time to get your email in shape before BFCM/holiday shopping rolls around.
Today I am talking to you about email marketing again! Even though I just shared a bunch of resources in my last email. That's because ecommerce and email go together like peanut butter and jelly. It's rare (perhaps impossible?) to see a successful ecommerce brand without a smart email and SMS strategy.
This is also a critical time of year to make sure your email strategy is sound. That's because most online shops get higher traffic during the holidays. Since only 1-3% of your visitors will buy from you, that means the other 97-99% will leave, perhaps never to return... unless you get them on your mailing list and market to them over time.
Here's a checklist to see if your email strategy is ready for the holidays and to continue building your business beyond then:
- Are you on Klaviyo? It's the best bet for Shopify stores.
- Do you have an enticing sign-up form with a submit rate of 4-7% or higher?
- Is at least 25% of your total Shopify revenue coming from Klaviyo?
- Would you like to push that to 30-40%?
- Do you have an email onboarding series for your new subscribers?
- Do you have all the necessary automated email flows set up, such as abandoned cart, purchase follow-up, and re-engagement campaigns?
- Plus some flows that are unique to your business and customers?
- Do you have professionally designed email templates with a variety of content blocks to choose from?
- Do you segment your list so you can send targeted emails to just the right people?
- Do you regularly clean your mailing list of unengaged subscribers to raise conversion rates, save fees, and improve deliverability?
- Are you using SMS (text message) marketing for certain messages and customer groups?
- Do you check your stats and adjust your strategy based on the data?
To ensure you aren't leaving money on the table and that your hard-won traffic eventually converts to paying customers, your answers should be "yes" to the above. If you see any areas where you're lagging, never fear. The complexities of Klaviyo and email marketing are a lot to figure out for a shop owner or marketing team. That's why growing brands and shops outsource this to us. We've been honing our skills and knowledge in this area for many years, and have a team of four Klaviyo experts to learn all about your business and products and plan and implement a strategy that will make money for you while you're asleep or on a beach.
We just added more capacity for this work, and we welcome you to join us! Projects start at $6000, and are designed to pay for themselves (the speed of ROI will depend on your list size). We have time to get the important work done before the holidays, then help you with your new subscribers in the aftermath of those sales. Please email me back for much more detail and information on your next steps.

Here's a reader question about integrating Shopify and Etsy, as answered by the experts on the Aeolidia team: Q: Is there a way to integrate Shopify and Etsy? There seems to be no simple way to share inventory and product updates. If your team has any insight, I’d love to hear it—I’m sure a lot of your customers sell on both platforms and I can’t be the only one frustrated with managing both! |
A: You’re definitely not alone! Many shop owners who sell on both Shopify and Etsy struggle to keep products and inventory in sync. Here are two tools that our clients and team have used with success:
- Shuttle: A robust integration platform that automatically syncs inventory, product details, and orders between Shopify and Etsy. Shuttle can import or export products in either direction, update stock levels in real time, and even handle pricing or currency differences, making day-to-day management much less manual.
- Vela: A bulk-editing tool designed for multi-platform sellers. Vela makes it easy to quickly update product descriptions, titles, pricing, and photos across both Shopify and Etsy, and can duplicate or push listings from one platform to the other. It’s especially helpful if you manage a large catalog or need to keep branding consistent.
These tools can help streamline updates across platforms, though each has its own learning curve and limitations. We’ll share more as integration options evolve.
Question: Answered
Our team includes experts in branding, design, development, email & SMS/text marketing, search engine optimization, copywriting, conversion optimization, ecommerce strategy, business growth, and more. Have a question for us? Email back, and I'll consult one of our experts and share one weekly response over email.
